Depart Rawnsley Park Station at 7.30am for a beautiful journey through the Moralana Scenic Drive as we make our way to Nilpena Ediacara National Park, the primary Ediacaran Fossil Site for inclusion in the Flinders Ranges World Heritage Nomination. The Ediacara hills are home to the world's richest, most diverse, and best-preserved in-situ (original location) Ediacaran fossils, showcasing Earth's earliest complex life forms Your experience begins out on the world-renowned fossil fields, where you'll see multiple layers of the extraordinary impressions of Earth's earliest complex animals--remarkable fossils preserved for over 550 million years.

Following your time on the fossil beds, we head to the historic Nilpena blacksmith shop. Here, innovative audio-visual displays provide an insight into the ancient seabed where these complex lifeforms evolved and reveal how they lived and helped shape the evolution of life on planet earth.

After the tour, we continue to the iconic Prairie Hotel* for a gourmet lunch. Our return journey takes us through the spectacular Brachina Gorge Geological Trail, where you'll enjoy stunning scenery , unique wildlife and the fascinating geology of the Ikara-Flinders Ranges National Park. We visit Hucks Lookout overlooking Wilpena Pound on the return to Rawnsley Park Station
